Frankincense has been used for thousands of years in healing and it has demonstrated powerful anti-cancer effects. It is also known as olibanum and is a popular oil used to help fight disease causing inflammation, support heightened immunity, relieve chronic stress, reduce pain, and prevent dangerous infections.
In 2013, researchers at the University of Leicester in England announced that frankincense may prove to be a safe and effective therapy for women who suffer from ovarian cancer. In related research, a compound found in frankincense called AKBA has shown it may be effective against other cancers such as breast, colon and prostate.
I currently use frankincense as a part of my oil regimen and holistic healing practices. I apply the oil mixture (primarily made up of frankincense) twice daily to my spine, the bottoms of my feet and the back of my head. I also utilize it in other ways, like the morphine bomb, for pain management on high pain days.
