Q: Where are you from? Where do you call home?
A: Originally I’m from Texas but NYC is home!
Q: What do you do for “work”?
A: Lifestyle Personality, Writer, Speaker, Entrepreneur
Q: How long have you been doing this?
A: I’ve been an entrepreneur for almost 3 years.
Q: How did you get started?
A: I was let go from my job of 8 years which pushed me out so I could start my own company. I started an event planning company that day, simultaneously building a social media audience as I worked on my event planning company. I took a break from planning a year ago to focus on building my personal brand.
Q: What inspires and motivates you?
A: I’m pretty self-motivated but having a killer team around me, inspires and pushes me to work really hard to grow my brand so that everyone can grow and have more opportunities.
Q: What tips do you have for anyone looking to get into the same thing?
A: Whatever you are willing to do in your spare time, outside of a current career has real viability for a future full-time gig. If you aren’t willing to do that, you aren’t passionate enough to pursue it, especially careers that take the amount of discipline and long hours like being an entrepreneur.
Q: What distracts you from your goals? How do you overcome those distractions?
A: My need to try and take care of people sometimes can be distracting but that desire to help people is why I am good at my job. I choose to manage the distractions rather than get rid of them. Creating boundaries is challenging but in the end, boundaries are the only way for me to sustain energy to be my best.
Q: Do you have any daily routines or rituals that help you to be at your best?
A: I always take time for exercise and a very involved skincare routine morning and night. It’s my version of meditation.
Q: What are your non-negotiables in life? How has keeping these things a priority helped you to be successful?
A: I make sure that when I meet someone, they start with my full trust. They can lose it but I don’t make people earn it initially. I think this has helped me be less controlling, more free, and has allowed me to be positively surprised by the human race everyday.
Q: What do you like to do for fun?
A: I love exploring hidden secret spots in New York, spending time with the ones closest to me, and of course traveling to new countries!
Q: Do you have any pets? If so, tell us about them
