We have said it before and we will say it again, taking time for you is not selfish, it is vital to your health both physically and emotionally. We are constantly on the go, often giving to others long before we even consider giving to ourselves. We pour out of our cup into others and soon find we are pouring from an empty cup. This leads to fatigue, increased stress, resentment, depression, lack of motivation and more.
Taking time for you to sit and relax, read, participate in your favorite hobby, walk the beach, watch the sunrise, whatever it may be will actually improve your relationships with others, increase your motivation, reduce your stress levels and increase your self worth as you prove to yourself that you are worth 5 minutes of peace.
“But I am so busy, I don’t have 5 minutes!” Yes, in fact you do have 5 minutes, you are just choosing to spend it differently. Get up a little earlier, stay up a little later, let someone else do the dishes or take out the trash. Create the time for you and you will find that you will be even more productive and in a better mood througout the rest of your day.
