Tasty Tuesday Spotlight – Papaya

This fruit boasts major health benefits as listed in the great graphic from Dr Axe below.  Be sure to pick a ripe papaya – it will have orange skin and it will give a little when pushed.  Green papayas are unripe and should be cooked or allowed to ripen on the counter until they reach that orange hue.  You can eat ripe papaya raw, put it into your smoothie, add it to salad or to your next stir fry.  A word of caution, seek out organic papaya to avoid GMO varieties that are prevalent on the market.
