Hot Buttered Rum (vegan, gluten free)

Maple syrup and non dairy butter make this classic a vegan home "rum".

  • 1 cup Dairy free, soy free butter
  • 1 cup Maple syrup
  • 1 tsp Cinnamon ground
  • 1/2 tsp Clove ground
  • 1/8 tsp Pink Himalayan Sea Salt
  • 1 750-ml Bottle Cruzan Rum or other gluten free rum
  • 6 Cinnamon sticks for garnish


  1. In a small bowl combine the non dairy butter, maple syrup, cinnamon, cloves and salt.

  2. For each serving, spoon 2 heaping tbsp of the butter mixture into a warm mug, add a 1/4 cup of rum and top with hot water and a cinnamon stick.
