I am so excited to honor and introduce this fabulous lady and fellow warrior. Kristin and I met through pageantry but we also share the sistehood and bond of a cancer diagnosis. I once said to Kristin that she makes everyone she meets feel welcomed and loved. She has a pure gift of a huge heart. Her authenticity of being humble, generous, and just an amazing human being, is why she is an ispiration and role model. Please give a Fabulous Welcome to Kristin Thurston!!
A graduate of the University of Tampa where she received her BA in Communications and Marketing and was a member of the Delta Gamma Sorority, Kristin now is the current co-owner with her mother of the USA Ambassador Pageant, as well as a Mazda Digital Consultant with Shift Digital. A former pageant competitor, Kristin went on to be very successful in the New England area capturing many local, state and regional titles. In 1999, she was crowned Miss NH Teen USA and was featured on the nationally televised Miss Teen USA Pageant.
Kristin has called Tampa Bay her home for the past 19 years and has been involved with many charitable and leadership organizations. She is a graduate of the Tampa Connection Program, she served as co-chair of both the Leadership Council for Big Brothers Big Sisters Tampa Bay and the Tunnel to Towers Stair Climb Event in Tampa Bay, She is a former member of the High Hopes in High Heels Organization, and continues to regularly volunteer and participate in various events benefiting a variety of charitable organizations in the Tampa Bay Area including the Children’s Cancer Center. One of her most passionate charitable involvement is with the Miles for Moffitt Race every year- Having formed Team Kristin for the past 5 years raising over 20k to finding a cure for Cancer. As a 4 year Cancer Survivor, she is dedicated and passionate about finding a cure for cancer, that affects so many. She has been featured twice on Channel 10 News for her survivor Story including recently at the Miles for Moffitt race. Kristin was also the Keynote Speaker for the Panera Bread Knead for Knowledge Awards Dinner giving scholarships to teens and young adults who have battled cancer.
The Spirit of Life Award started in 2015 in memory of her Aunt Doreen who passed away of Cancer and her Fambassador family surprised her with, establishing each year they pick one or two people to celebrate and honor with the award at the National Pageant.
When Kristin is not volunteering her time or passionately working, you can find her spending time with her fur babies, especially fur baby, Brady who is battling lymphoma. Traveling around the world, where she has had the opportunity to visit Germany, Costa Rica, Cuba, Portugal, Iceland, Mexico, USVI, Belgium, Luxembourg, Aruba, St Martin, Bahamas, Honduras, Beliz and visited 40 states. and excited to go on her 2nd Missionary Trip to Puerto Rico with the USA Ambassador Pageant in May. You can also find her mentoring our youth, and taking in every sunrise and sunset she can. Her favorite motto to live by is Focus on the journey, not the destination.
