National Candy Day! Let’s Talk…

I am guilty of being a candy lover, especially sour gummy candy. Unfortunetly to much sugar intake will lead to health problems. When you eat excess sugar, the extra insulin in your bloodstream can affect your arteries, part of your body’s circulatory system. It causes their walls to grow faster than normal and get tense, which adds stress to your heart and damages it over time. This can lead to heart disease, heart attacks, and strokes.

When indulging in your favorite sweet remember to eat in moderation, take a walk or an excerise class to help your body utilize the access sugar, or choose to pass on the processed sugar and grab a fruit cup instead!
